Event Boxes

Some events are not on a timer. Every so often a game master shows up in town and runs something by hand: a quiz, a race, a hunt, whatever fits the evening. The prizes for those are these four boxes.

Every one of them holds zeny, and every one of them rolls its contents the moment you open it. Nobody, not even the game master handing them out, knows what is inside before you double-click.

They are tradeable, so a prize you cannot use is still worth something to somebody else. None of them can be sold to an NPC shop.

These boxes are for live events only. The automated events that run on the clock keep paying Poring Coins as before. The two systems do not overlap, and no box contains coins.

Event Prize Pouch#

A small reward for taking part in a live event.

Turning up is enough. The zeny is guaranteed (10,000, 20,000, 30,000 or 40,000, each equally likely), and on top of that the pouch rolls one of these:

Event Treasure Chest#

Awarded to those who came close to winning a live event.

Second and third place. Guaranteed 50,000, 100,000 or 150,000 zeny, each equally likely, plus one roll:

The chest deliberately stops short of the winner's shelf. No Costume Ticket, no Bubble Gum, no Mysterious Dyestuff. The single Wardrobe Cache at 4 percent is the one cosmetic chance in here, and the winner gets that same cache guaranteed.

Champion's Chest#

The winner's prize of a live event.

Two things are guaranteed: 200,000, 400,000 or 600,000 zeny, each equally likely, and one Wardrobe Cache, so a win always leaves something you can wear. On top of that comes a single roll:

A win leaves you with exactly one costume. Until August 2026 the roll could add a second Wardrobe Cache at 6 percent, which is gone. It read like a blank on a chest that already guarantees the same item, and costumes are meant to be worth something. The freed 6 percent went to the Old Purple Box and Refine Ticket lines rather than to the Costume Ticket, so removing a cosmetic roll does not quietly make cosmetics more common somewhere else.

The Hunter's Cache in that list is the one with a real Bloody Branch chance. It left Lydia's shop in August 2026 and this is now one of the few ways to see one.

Golden Gamble Pouch#

A sealed pouch of zeny. Nobody knows how much is inside until it is opened.

Money only, no items, and a wide spread. Useful when a game master wants to hand everyone the same thing and let luck sort out the rest.

Anything from a million upward is announced to the whole server. On average a pouch is worth about 49,000 zeny, which is why they can be handed out generously. The memorable ones are rare on purpose.

What the boxes inside boxes do#

Three entries above are themselves boxes, which is easy to lose track of:

Wardrobe Cache	One random costume headgear out of the shop range. Pure cosmetics, no stats.
Hunter's Cache	Endgame supplies, with a small chance of a Bloody Branch.
Old Blue Box / Old Purple Box	The classic boxes, unchanged from vanilla Ragnarok.

And three are redeemed at an NPC rather than used:

Costume Ticket	Pays the Costume Converter fee instead of a million zeny.
Mysterious Dyestuff	Alora at /navi prt_in 253/168 recolours Mage Hats, Beanies, Drooping Cats, Deviruchi Hats, Wigs, Ribbons and Magestic Goats. Refine and cards are lost in the process, so bring a plain one.
+7 Refine Ticket	The Refine Master at /navi prontera 184/177 takes it and upgrades one weapon or armour to +7. Guaranteed, with no chance of breaking.
