Patch Notes

Every player-visible change, newest first. Each entry links to the page that explains it in full.

22 August 2026#

Autoloot works with homunculus and mercenary kills. A kill your companion made on its own used to drop everything on the floor, and it goes to your bag again. Two limits keep this to players who are at the keyboard. Kills by your companion stop counting after 90 seconds without any action from you, or after three minutes without moving at least ten cells from where you last stood. Poring Coins

Emotes work again. The 2026 client sends them in a format the server was throwing away, so nothing appeared whether you used the emote wheel or typed a command. They had been dead since the client switch on 21 August.

NPC conversations wait five minutes instead of one. A menu or a text box used to close itself after 60 seconds, which was easy to run into if you typed something in chat in between.

The client download is a zip file now. Microsoft Edge stopped at 99 percent on the old 7z archive and never finished, whichever mirror you used. The zip is around 5.3 GB instead of 4.7 GB and Windows opens it without extra software. Download

Cloth and hair colours work properly again. Since the client switch the higher numbers at the stylist only recoloured small parts of your sprite instead of the whole outfit. The client was taking the sprite from one place and the colour from another, and the two did not match. Run the patcher once. Stylist

21 August 2026#

Download the new client. SecondWind RO runs on a 2026 game client from today and the old one can no longer connect. This is a full download of around 4.7 GB from the website, not a patch. Download

The new client#

  • Relay connections hold for the whole session. If you play through the Singapore, Sydney, Los Angeles or Brazil relay, the character and map servers keep you on that relay instead of handing you the main address once you pick a character. The build from 20 August was meant to do this and did the opposite, pinning every connection to the main address whichever server you picked, so it was taken back the next day.
  • The game no longer closes right after the patcher. This hit machines where the old client could not start its graphics device, and the only way around it was copying a compatibility file into the folder by hand. The new client offers DirectX 9, which starts on hardware where the old path gave up.
  • DirectX 9 sits next to DirectX 7 in the setup tool. DirectX 7 is capped at 1920x1440, so pick DirectX 9 for anything larger. Troubleshooting
  • Item descriptions lost the external database link. Every item carried a link to a database site at the bottom of its tooltip. Run the patcher once to get this one.

World map#

  • The world map shows the regions SecondWind RO actually has. Tabs for content from later episodes are gone, and so are the eight Sograt fields that closed on 19 August.

Fixes#

  • The centre of Morroc is walkable again. The server still held the city from before it was destroyed while the client drew the ruins, so the two disagreed about where the ground was and parts of the city blocked you for no visible reason.

Later the same day#

  • Your own character showed up as a novice. Everyone else saw your real class, and the character selection screen was wrong too. The cause was an incomplete server build after the packet version changed.
  • Item tooltips showed Renewal numbers. The mantle read 37 defense when it is 4, and around 3000 items carried a wrong attack or defense value. Run the patcher once to get the corrected descriptions.
  • Izlude and Morroc match the server again. Izlude was drawn from a later version of the map, so parts of it blocked you and the warps sat in the wrong places. Morroc is the intact city, the way the minimap shows it.
  • The Stylist no longer locks you up. Clicking through the styles quickly made the dialogue vanish and left you stuck in place. It runs as a normal conversation now and has its own way out.
  • Treasure Hunt no longer pays Champion Seals. The chest can be found alone, so it was the one seal source without an opponent. It still pays five Golden Gamble Pouches and the same chances at the event boxes. Champion Seals
  • The Quest Board pays less zeny. The amounts were meant as the total for all six bounties of a level range and were paid per bounty instead. At level 90 to 99 the whole board now pays around 350k instead of 2.4 million. Hunting Missions

If something goes wrong#

  • Tell us. Post in Discord or use the support form. If you get an error at login, you are still on the old client.

20 August 2026#

Run the patcher before you log in. This update replaces the game client with a build that keeps proxy connections working past the login screen.

  • Players who connect through one of our relay servers stay on that relay for the whole session. Until now the relay only carried the login step, and the client switched to the main server address as soon as you picked a character. If you play from Asia, Oceania or North America and had a stable login followed by lag in game, that is the part that changed.

19 August 2026#

Run the patcher before you log in. This update ships new item names and descriptions plus the title list, adds Poring Coins to the buying store list, and rebuilds the world map and the navigation data.

Champion Seals#

  • A third currency arrives, and you cannot farm it. Champion Seals come from winning: events, weekly and monthly seasons, and War of Emperium. They cannot be traded or mailed, so what you hold you earned yourself. Storage works, so they move between your own characters. Champion Seals
  • The Keeper of Seals opens in Prontera at . Nine passes, a bundle, ten permanent items and twenty garment costumes. Nothing in the shop changes a combat value. Champion Seals
  • Six comfort items join the shop. A Companion Bell that brings a pet along for an hour, a Collector's Register that counts your cards and costumes wherever they sit, a Loot Keyring with three saved autoloot lists, and two Cart Painters. Champion Seals

Seasons#

  • Four seasons start running side by side. Quest Board and Events reset every week, King of Emperium and War of Emperium every month. Every prize is paid in Champion Seals. Seasons
  • The first season week is 31 August to 6 September. Winners are announced Sunday 23:55 and the counters reset Monday 00:00. Top three in each ranking get 5, 3 and 2 seals. Seasons
  • A Season Board stands next to the Keeper at . It shows the live standings for all four seasons and the past winners. Seasons

War of Emperium#

  • Sieges start on Wednesday 2 September and run twice a week from then on. Wednesday 20:00 UTC is Kriemhild in Prontera, Saturday 12:00 UTC is Neuschwanstein in Aldebaran. Only the castle scheduled for that day opens. War of Emperium
  • Three things pay Champion Seals. Holding the castle at the end pays 3, breaking the Emperium pays 5 the moment it falls, and taking part pays 2. Taking part is measured, not assumed: the castle is checked every five minutes and you still get paid if you die and end the round in town. War of Emperium
  • The treasure chests pay properly now. Every chest holds two Poring Coins, and Enriched Oridecon, Enriched Elunium and a Treasure Box join the table. Four slotted armour pieces that were worth nothing at level 99 came out to make room. War of Emperium
  • Yggdrasil Berries, Yggdrasil Seeds, Pumpkin Pie and Kafra Card do not work inside a castle, and neither do Assumptio, Party Assumptio and High Jump. A blocked item is not consumed when it fails. War of Emperium

Events#

  • Six events now carry a chance at the three event boxes. Reverse Race, Zombie Survival and Treasure Hunt roll 1, 10 and 25 percent per win. Find the Mushroom, Disguise and Poring Invasion roll a much smaller chance per kill. Event Calendar
  • Reverse Race and Zombie Survival pay 2 Champion Seals to the winner on top of their coins. Event Calendar
  • Treasure Hunt is worth hunting again. The chest now pays five Golden Gamble Pouches and 2 Champion Seals, with a 15 percent shot at a Hunter's Cache. Event Calendar
  • Poring Invasion pays far more. Every squashed poring has a 15 percent chance at a Golden Gamble Pouch instead of 2.5, and the Poring King now drops five of them guaranteed. Event Calendar
  • Poring Invasion spreads across the whole city. Each wave used to drop all eighteen porings into one small square at the fountain, where a single Storm Gust took half of them. They now land in nine zones over the whole of Prontera, two to a zone. The Poring King still shows up at the fountain. Event Calendar

Fixes#

  • Eight Sograt Desert fields are closed. moc_fild04, 05, 06, 08, 09, 10, 14 and 15 were destroyed when Morocc fell, and no official client has drawn them on the world map since. They were opened again on 13 August because our own map and navigation still listed them, and this update takes them out of both.
  • Phreeoni is back to a single spawn. A second one appeared on moc_fild15 while that field was open, alongside the official one on moc_fild17. Only the moc_fild17 spawn remains.
  • The Desert Wolves hunt names maps you can reach. It pointed at moc_fild14, one of the closed fields. Desert Wolf lives on moc_fild13 and Magnolia on moc_fild16. Hunting Missions
  • Poring Coins can be bought in a player buying store now. The server always allowed it, but the client keeps its own list of items a buying store may carry and no custom item was on it. Open the store with the skill from Mr. Hugh in Alberta. Poring Coins
  • @koerank no longer freezes you. The command opened its window on the herald in Prontera, and closing that window from anywhere else in the world was rejected, which left you unable to move until you warped or relogged. King of Emperium
  • Treasure chests stop appearing where nobody can reach them. One map in the Sograt desert has an exit but no entrance except a long quest chain, so a chest that landed there was effectively lost. Event Calendar
  • The King of Emperium page lists its season seals. The server has always paid 25, 15 and 10 to the top three guilds, and the page never said so. King of Emperium
  • Metz keeps the same hours as Engel Howard in the Sign quest. One of the two used odd hour boundaries, which made half the wiki timetable wrong. Repeatable Quests

17 August 2026#

  • The client has a new executable, so run the patcher before you log in. The login server accepts the old client for a short transition period, but only the updated one gets the fixes below. If your patcher no longer finds anything, download the client again from the website. Download
  • Bard and Dancer song areas are visible on the ground again. Every client from 2019 onward stopped drawing the old song effects, so playing a Poem of Bragi looked like nothing had happened and there was no way to see where the buff reached. The new executable restores them.
  • Song buff icons show the time you actually have left. The icon counted down from the song's full duration, so it read two minutes while the buff was about to expire twenty seconds after you walked out of the area.

16 August 2026#

  • Scarlet Rose now drops what it always claimed to. The item description promised a chance of a Witherless Rose from any kill, but the script behind it never granted one. It does now, at a low rate. Found while checking the headgear page against the in-game tooltip. Headgear Crafting
  • Hunting missions pay a share of your level now. Every hunt used to pay a fixed amount of experience, which meant one hunt was worth two and a half levels at 30 and 1.4 percent of a level at 98. Each hunt now pays a share of the level you are on, 16 percent up to level 69 and stepping down to 5 percent at 97 so the last stretch stays a climb. Hunting Missions
  • The board opens at level 15 and has six ranges instead of four. Ranges are 15 to 29, 30 to 44, 45 to 59, 60 to 74, 75 to 89 and 90 to 99, with six hunts each. You only see the six for your own range, and the board names the map for every one of them. Hunting Missions
  • Hunts are short and grow with you. A hunt runs about 6 minutes at level 15 and about 11 minutes at 90 plus, so all six take 35 minutes at the bottom and just over an hour at the top. Shorter hunts mean the fixed experience share is worth more per hour, so the board beats farming the same spot yourself at every level from 70 up. Hunting Missions
  • The whole board resets at midnight instead of 24 hours after each hand-in. The old timer moved later every day, which punished you for playing early. Hunting Missions
  • Several hunts could not be finished at all. Shadows of the Night wanted Wraith Dead, whose main spawn is a guild dungeon, and Desert Guardians wanted 10 Anubis when 25 exist on the whole server. Two more sent you to Cursed Abbey and Gefenia, which sit behind long quest chains. Hunting Missions
  • Two hunts were impossible for melee classes. Whisper and Nightmare are ghost property, and a plain weapon does zero damage to those. Both are off the board. Hunting Missions
  • Armoured monsters counted for too little. Kill counts were sized by monster health alone, and armour in pre-renewal cuts damage by a percentage, so Ice Titan at 71 defence took a melee character 34 minutes where the target was 21 while Sphinx Guardians in the same range took 22 and paid the same. All 36 counts are resized against whichever of melee or magic has the harder time, so no hunt runs long for your class. Hunting Missions
  • Hobota's prices went up threefold. They were set when the board handed out at most 40 Mission Points a day and it now hands out up to 210, which made a Costume Ticket a daily purchase. Hunting Missions
  • Party listings show up in Discord now. Post one in game and it appears on Discord within a minute, and that same post keeps itself current as people ask to join and when the listing ends. Pick up the Looking for Group role under Channels and Roles if you want a ping for new ones. Party Finder
  • The Party Finder froze you in place. Accepting a hunt at the Questboard and saying yes to the party board left you stuck where you stood until you logged out and back in. The board handed the conversation to an NPC across town, and the server drops dialogue clicks once the NPC is more than 14 cells away. Reported on Discord. Party Finder
  • @lfg opens the board from anywhere now. It always opened the dialogue, but every click after that was ignored unless you were standing next to the NPC in Prontera. Party Finder

15 August 2026#

  • Parrying locked you out of your own skills. With it active and several monsters on you, every blocked hit also blocked your skill use, and with enough attackers those locks overlapped without a gap. Blocked hits still slow your attack speed but no longer stop skills. Class Changes
  • Guild storage would not accept anything. The window opened, but every item you dragged in stayed where it was without a word, and afterwards your normal storage stopped working too. The Kafra opened the guild storage while her own dialogue was still on screen, and the server ignores storage moves for as long as you are talking to an NPC.
  • The Kafra says why the guild storage stays shut. She used to give the same answer in every case, that another guild member was inside. Now you get the real reason, whether that is your own storage still being open or your guild rank not being cleared for it.
  • Piece of Fish could not be thrown away. The Moscovia fishing quest hands them out but only takes them back ten at a time, so leftovers sat in your bag for good at 10 weight each. They can be dropped and sold now, and the launcher brings the matching tooltip.
  • Poring Coins claimed they could not be traded. The item window listed move restrictions that the server stopped enforcing long ago, which is why trading them worked anyway. Run the launcher and the tooltip agrees with the game again.
  • A homunculus or mercenary killing on its own counts for nothing. Kills where you never landed a hit give no Poring Coins, no kill counter progress and no autoloot. One hit from you and the kill counts as normal. Poring Coin System
  • A mercenary earns you no experience while you stand still. Go three minutes without taking a step and its share of the experience is dropped for that kill. Your homunculus is not affected by this. Mercenaries
  • Hour Points sit on the character now, not the account. Every character keeps its own balance and you cannot pool two of them for one purchase. What your account had moves to the first character you log in with. Hourly Rewards
  • Every hour pays the same 10 points. The old ramp from 5 up to 15 is gone. An hour pays 5 instead if you were away for more than half of it or barely moved from the spot, and those half hours stop paying after the eighth in a day. Hourly Rewards
  • The costume shop costs 35 percent more. The three price steps went from 420, 720 and 960 to 570, 970 and 1300. Returns still pay half of what you spent. Hourly Rewards
  • Removing cards cannot fail any more. The Wise Old Woman used to destroy the item or the cards on a bad roll, and she asked which of the two you wanted protected. Both are gone, she just takes the fee and hands everything back. Removing Cards
  • Bowling Bash covers 3x3 instead of 5x5. It still hits twice and still knocks every target back 2 cells, the area around the enemy you clicked is smaller. Class Changes
  • Eight items sell to NPCs for less than they did. Witherless Rose dropped from 27,500 to 7,500 and Khukri from 120,000 to 25,000, the other six moved less. Buying prices are untouched. Modified Sales Prices

14 August 2026#

  • Parties have a board now. The Party Finder next to the Prontera fountain shows who is recruiting and who is looking, and @lfg opens it from anywhere in the world. Post what you are after with a level range and a short note, and the leader decides on every request personally. Party Finder
  • The Questboard fills in a party listing for you. Accept a hunt and it offers to put you on the board with the name of that hunt and its exact level bracket already set. Accepting a different hunt later rewrites the listing instead of adding a second one. Party Finder
  • The Tool Dealer in the Prontera inn stocks six more things. Berserk Potion, Blue Gemstone, Yggdrasil Leaf, Iron Arrow, Bloody Shell and Venom Knife. All six were on sale somewhere else already, so this only shortens the walk, and Prontera had no Blue Gemstone at all before. NPC Directory
  • A slot machine opened in the Comodo casino. Six Poring Coins a spin, or 100,000 zeny when you are out of coins. About one spin in three pays something back, and there is a one in ten thousand shot at a million zeny. Comodo Casino
  • The Vote Master is now the Vote Shop. Same NPC, same points, same stock. It moved a few steps to and looks different. Vote Rewards
  • Blush of Groom had no description at all. The English translation left the field empty, so the item window showed three dots where the text belongs. Run the launcher to pick that up.
  • The Vote Shop went from 24 costumes to 65. Almost all of the old ones sat in the upper slot, so you could rarely wear more than one at a time. The new ones fill the middle and lower slots, which means one from each can be worn together. Two new categories carry them, and the showpieces sit at the top price. Vote Rewards
  • Time played pays now. Every full hour in the game gives Hour Points, 5 for the first two hours, 10 for the next two and 15 from the fifth on, with no daily cap. The Hourly Reward Manager in Prontera sells 37 costumes for them, sorted by slot. Hourly Rewards
  • Hour Points need you at the keyboard, nothing else. An hour counts fully if you were present for at least half of it. What you did does not matter, so a quest without a fight, an event or crafting count the same as farming. A homunculus fighting on its own does not carry the hour. Away time still pays half. Hourly Rewards
  • Eight Sograt Desert fields are open again. moc_fild04 through moc_fild15 had been switched off since the Morocc rework, but the world map still drew them and navigation still routed through them, so navigation led players into dead ends. They are back with their monsters and their warps, and you reach them from the north exit of moc_fild01.
  • The hunting board went from 8 hunts to 20. Five per tier instead of two, so a character can run five a day instead of running dry after ten minutes. Rewards are much larger as well, a full day is now worth one to two extra levels on top of what those kills give you anyway. Hunting Missions
  • Two hunts could never be completed. Guardians of the Culvert wanted Knight Guardian, which does not spawn anywhere on this server, and Shadows of the Night wanted 15 Dark Illusion, of which exactly one exists with an hour long respawn. Both have new targets.
  • Higher tiers ask for more now. A tier IV hunt used to be no harder than a tier III one, sometimes easier. Kill counts are set by how much the monsters can take, so the work rises with the tier instead of jumping around.
  • The overweight tooltip says 50 percent as well now. The number sits in three separate places in the client and the tooltip on the icon was the third one. Icon, chat lines and tooltip all agree with the server.

13 August 2026#

  • Pets can feed themselves now. Turn it on with @autofeed or through the Settings Assistant, and it survives logging out. Feeding still needs the pet's usual food item in your inventory. The pet info window has no checkbox for this on our client, so the command is the only way in.
  • Navigation sent you to an NPC that does not exist. The route data that came with the client was copied from official Ragnarok servers and pointed at an "Aegis Warper" in 28 towns, plus a destination called Aegis City that exists on no server. All route data is now generated from SecondWind RO itself, so every NPC it names is one you can walk up to.
  • Navigation knows our own NPCs. The Warper, the Soul Priestess and the Healer in every town are in the route data now, along with quest NPCs like Lilla on Umbala Field 1. Custom maps such as the Shopping Mall work as a destination too.
  • Navigation no longer suggests warps the Warper cannot do. It used to route you to the Warper for fields, for dungeon floors below the entrance and for instances, none of which the Warper menu offers. Those routes are gone, so what it tells you to do is something you can actually do.
  • The overweight icon showed the wrong number. It read 70 percent while the server starts blocking natural HP and SP recovery at 50, so the icon turned up long before the number on it. The icon and the two chat lines that go with it say 50 percent now.
  • The world map knows the Dimensional Rift. The three Sograt Desert maps behind Morocc and the Dimensional Gorge were on no world map at all, not even the official ones. Type "Dimensional" into the search box of the world map window to find them.
  • @hominfo is open to every player. It lists your homunculus stats, hunger and intimacy. Player Commands

12 August 2026#

  • The Training Ground zombie no longer sends you to Prontera for nothing. Restless Spirit on the Training Ground only offers that shortcut while the Zombie Survival gate is actually open, three times a day at 06:00, 14:00 and 22:00 server time. Clicking it outside that window used to skip the rest of the Training Ground for an event that was not even running, now it just tells you when to come back.
  • Every pet accessory can be obtained now. 18 of the 43 had no source in the game at all, so they drop from the same monster as the pet's taming item, at the same rate. The accessory only changes how your pet looks, the stat bonus comes from intimacy and works without it. Item Database
  • Pet accessories have their own database pages. Each one lists where it comes from and which pet wears it, the same as the taming items. The tables in Pet System link straight to them.
  • Item icons across the wiki were wrong. The generator read the icon of the unidentified version of each item, so every sword showed a plain sword and every pet accessory a helmet or a ribbon. All 234 are correct now.
  • Brasilis and Brasilis Dungeon are now on the Warper's list. Both were reachable on foot and already counted toward exploration, but the actual warp menu never had an entry for them.
  • The wiki has been rebuilt. Navigation sits on the left, the page in the middle, and the chapters of that page on the right, so you can jump around a long page without scrolling back to the top. Sections are separated properly now, and every page loads as a finished file instead of being assembled in your browser.
  • Search is instant. Type in the box at the top or press the slash key from anywhere. Page titles rank above body text, so the page you meant comes first.
  • Every address still works. Old links and bookmarks land where they always did.
  • The website was rebuilt too. New front page with server status, the next event with a countdown, live rankings and the market. Have a look at secondwindro.com.

11 August 2026#

  • King of Emperium opens on 1 September. A guild tournament in its own arena, three times a day, where the guild that holds the Emperium longest without losing it takes the round. Every season pays out a headgear that cannot be obtained any other way, and every member who fought for the winning guild gets one. You need a guild to take part, so now is the time to found one or join one. King of Emperium
  • The patcher has been replaced. Antivirus software started deleting the old one over a web address it has contacted since 2007, which now belongs to an ad network. Start secondwind_patcher.exe, let it finish, then run the secondwind_update.exe it drops into your folder, and keep using secondwind_patcher.exe after that.
  • New buttons in the launcher. Patch notes, the website, the wiki, registration and the graphics settings are one click away, and links open in your normal browser instead of forcing Internet Explorer.
  • The client download was rebuilt. A fresh download already carries the new launcher, so you can skip the step above. It also replaces a game file in the old package that the server rejected. Download & Install
  • Taekwon stance kicks hold you for less time. A stance proc used to block your attacks for about two seconds, and because it fires on 20 percent of your hits, more attack speed meant running into it more often. That block is down to roughly 60 percent of what it was. Movement was never blocked, only attacking, so you can always reposition during it.
  • The Champion's Chest no longer rolls a second costume. It already guarantees a Wardrobe Cache, so the extra 6 percent chance at the same item read like a blank. Those 6 percent went to Old Purple Box (29 percent) and the Refine Ticket (27 percent) instead of to the Costume Ticket. A win still always leaves you with exactly one costume. Event Boxes

10 August 2026#

  • Pets now run on the official bonus set. Every pet has its own unique bonus instead of uniform values: a reduced version at Cordial, the full one at Loyal, nothing below that. Six pets that officially give nothing got small SecondWind RO bonuses of their own, and no pet adds damage against players. Log out and back in once and your pet uses the new values. All numbers are in the Pet System tables.
  • Every pet egg now explains itself. Hover an egg in your inventory and both loyalty stages are written on it. That arrives with client patch 30, run secondwind_patcher.exe once.
  • An earlier balance pass from the same day (four pets trimmed, nine raised) was replaced by the official set in the evening.

9 August 2026#

  • The wiki got an item database. Every taming item has its own page now: drop sources with real chances, what it tames, weight and the in-game text. Start at the Item Database, or click any taming item in the Pet System tables. More item families follow over time.
  • Almost every pet can be caught now. 22 taming items that had no source in the game drop from their pet's own monster since today, at 0.2 percent base, which is 1 percent with server rates. White Lady drops her Shiny Wing Gown at 1 percent base, the Goblin Leader his Staff of Leader. Every source is in the Pet System tables.
  • Strange Hydra left the pet list. It has no food item in the game files and no taming route, so it could never be kept. Christmas Goblin and Green Maiden stay listed and are reserved for events.
  • Taming items show their right names again. Modern kRO reuses three old item IDs, so the client showed the Shiny Wing Gown as a Gingerbread Cookie, the Fit Pipe as a Ghost Coffin and the Oilpalm Coconut as Coconut Oil. Client patch 29 brings back the real names, icons and descriptions. Run secondwind_patcher.exe once.
  • The Pet System page is now a real database. Every pet with its sprite, its exact in-game name, its taming item, its food and where it spawns. It also says openly which pets have no catch route at the moment. See Pet System.
  • The wiki got a face lift. Game sprites instead of emoji, shorter patch notes, exact names you can paste into @mobinfo and @iteminfo. The old prose style is gone for good.
  • Regional gateways now carry your whole session. Until today only the login went through the gateway you picked, everything after that connected straight to Germany. If you play outside Europe, pick the nearest entry and test again. Connecting & Regions explains how.
  • Character slots: 15 to 30. The second page appears on the character select screen. Suggested in the forum, because Zombie Survival needs a spare Level 1 Novice and full accounts could not join.
  • Every event now runs three times a day. Five events, eight hours apart, so every time zone catches each one at a sane hour. Cluckers keeps its weekend 19:00 slot. Times below, details on the Event Calendar.
Server time Event
00:00, 08:00, 16:00 Poring Invasion
01:00, 09:00, 17:00 Find the Mushroom
02:00, 10:00, 18:00 Reverse Race
04:00, 12:00, 20:00 Disguise
06:00, 14:00, 22:00 Zombie Survival
  • The Poring King pays 25 Poring Coins to whoever lands the final hit, on top of the Golden Gamble Pouch. Full bag? The coins arrive by mail.
  • Zombie Survival winnings are no longer stuck on your Novice. The Grave Warden now opens your account storage for any character. Drop the coins in, pick them up on your main.
  • Poring Coin farming got fixed. Eggs, plants, mushrooms and Hydra pay no coins any more. Thief Bug, Thief Bug Female, Familiar, Tarou and Orc Zombie drop to 1 percent. And after 90 seconds without any input from you, kills stop paying coins until you act again, which ends AFK homunculus farming. Normal hunting keeps the full 5 percent everywhere else. See Poring Coins.
  • The Poring pet was far too strong. It gave LUK +3 and Crit +10 flat from the moment it hatched, more than any other pet earns at full loyalty. It now scales like the rest and ends at LUK +3, Crit +2. Spotted by a player, and it was our error. See Pet System.
  • Six maps had no minimap, among them three Warper destinations: Hvergelmir's Fountain, Amatsu Dungeon, Ayothaya Dungeon, Thanatos Tower 7 and 8, Turtle Dungeon 5. All six have proper minimaps now. Run secondwind_patcher.exe once.
  • Treasure Hunt tells you faster. The green "right map" confirmation fires the moment you enter the map, and also when a chest spawns on the map you are already standing on. Before, both could take up to 30 seconds. See Treasure Hunt.
  • Correction: the two-account limit ended on 2 August and this wiki kept claiming it existed. There is no per-connection limit any more. Also worth knowing: @autotrade frees your account while the shop sells, so vending needs no second account either. Corrected on More than one account, the FAQ and Vote Rewards.

8 August 2026#

  • Hvergelmir's Fountain is a Warper destination now, under Dungeons. It unlocks like everything else, by standing there once. The way in: Umbala Dungeon floor 2, warp at 125/163. Two other maps wrongly announced a warp unlock and no longer do.
  • World Explorer counts the whole world now. The counter only counted Warper entries, which capped it at 76 while the achievement tiers asked for 150 and 300. Now every town, field and dungeon floor counts, 321 places in total, and the top tier is 300. Your progress carries over. The Warper itself still only offers entrances.

7 August 2026#

  • Fixed a server crash. Logging back onto a character that was @autotrade vending could take the map server down. Cause was an internal timer pointing at the shop's old identity. Shops, stock and earnings were never at risk.
  • The Dice Event is out, the Poring Invasion is in. Dice needed four sign-ups in sixty seconds and almost always cancelled itself. The Invasion needs nothing: four waves of porings bounce through Prontera, the Poring King closes the show. Every poring has a 2.5 percent chance to drop a Golden Gamble Pouch, the King drops one guaranteed. Same slots as Dice, 16:00 and 22:00.
  • Two event NPCs arrived in Prontera. The Poring Herald at and the Treasure Hunter at . Both explain their event, its times and its loot, and tell you whether it is running right now.
  • New connection entry: SecondWind RO (South America), routed through SΓ£o Paulo. Run secondwind_patcher.exe once and it appears in the server select. See Connecting & Regions.
  • Singapore and Sydney relays repaired. Both had been down since 3 August because a stale process blocked the port. All relays are monitored automatically now.
  • Market Search went live on the website. Every open player shop, searchable as you type, sorted cheapest first, with a copy /navi button on every row. A switch shows buying shops too.
  • Who's Online shows vendors. Offline vendors appear in the list marked as Vending, and clicking them opens the shop with stock and prices. In game, @whosell and @whobuy work as before.
  • The Treasure Hunt leaves a trail. Unclaimed chests now produce hints over time: three local monsters after 15 minutes, three candidate maps after 30, the map itself after 45. @treasure repeats everything you missed. See Treasure Hunt.

6 August 2026#

  • The Shopping Mall opened. Player shops left the towns and moved into one dedicated map, free to reach from any Warper. Four rows around a plaza, a Kafra in the middle. See Shopping Mall & Offline Vending.
  • @autotrade no longer occupies your account. The shop detaches, you log into another character of the same account and keep playing while it sells. It also survives server restarts and pays out when you log the vendor back in.
  • The Treasure Hunt started. A chest hides somewhere in the wilds, server chat names only the region, the final hit takes the whole find. @treasure shows the current state. A new chest appears about four hours after the last one is found.
  • Two new Hall of Fame boards: Luckiest and Unluckiest Card Drop, the fewest and the most kills anyone needed for a card.

5 August 2026#

  • New event: Zombie Survival. Novices only, Base Level 1 only. No gear, no items, no attacking. Two more undead rise every 15 seconds and never leave, last Novice standing wins. Runs at 14:00 and 20:00. The Grave Warden stands at .
  • The event schedule was rebuilt. The old plan had grown to roughly 38 starts a day with three real collisions. Now: ten slots, every event twice, at least two hours between any two. The Reverse Race became a daily event.
  • Event wins can roll two extra prizes. 5 percent for a supply pack of scrolls and stat food, 0.1 percent for a Hunter's Cache with the real Bloody Branch chance. The Cache left Lydia's shop, winning is the only way to one now. The Veteran Hunter's Cache with a +7 Refine Ticket instead stays buyable.
  • The Hall of Fame doubled, seven boards to thirteen, sorted into Characters, Combat and Events. New: Explorers, Achievements, Most Deaths, Wealth and two Zombie Survival boards. See Hall of Fame.
  • Event NPCs stopped lying about rewards. Several reward texts had drifted from the actual numbers. They now read the real value from the config they describe.

3 August 2026#

  • Status arrows work without a bow again. Slotting a Freezing, Stun or Crystal Arrow for its status effect on skills like Grimtooth is classic behaviour and was wrongly blocked. Firing arrows still needs a bow, only the slot trick is back.
  • Soul Circlet's phantom card slot is gone. The tooltip promised a slot the item never had. The missing level and job lines were added while at it. See Custom Items.

2 August 2026#

  • All eighteen Repeatable Quests are open. Seventeen had been off because their rewards, written for 1x rates, exploded under ours. Rescaled to 2x quest EXP and switched back on. Level 2 to 98, no cooldown, no daily cap.
  • The Training Grounds were rebuilt. Everyone starts in the same instance now instead of one of five, four of which dead-ended. The exam NPC changes your job on the spot, all ten first classes included, and sends you off with a weapon, potions, Kafra tickets and buff scrolls.
  • Card drops announce your hunt. Only cards trigger the server announcement now, and it carries the kill count: "Neunsilber has obtained a [Poporing Card] after 500 Poporing kills!" @kc shows your running streaks. See Kill Counter.
  • Poring Coins drop at 5 percent again, up from the 2.5 the rate was cut to in July. The shop prices that forced that cut were fixed in the meantime.

1 August 2026#

The largest update since launch. Run secondwind_patcher.exe once before logging in, it delivers the costume sprites.

  • The Costume Converter opened, . Hand over a headgear and it becomes a pure looks item in a separate slot, stats and cards stripped, nothing destroyed. Converting back returns the original with refines and cards intact. 1,000,000 zeny or a Costume Ticket per conversion. See Costume Converter.
  • Voting pays Vote Points now, an account-bound currency only voting produces. The Vote Shop stocks 24 stat-free costume hats plus consumables, the Reset Pass and the name and gender vouchers. A full voting day earns 16 points. See Vote Rewards.
  • Guild storage works at every Kafra. Official servers lock it behind a Renewal-only guild skill, which made it impossible here. The lock is gone, every guild has storage from day one.
  • @killcount was rebuilt. Menu, five tracked monsters at once, counts shown over your head as you kill, stored on the character so logout keeps them. See Kill Counter.
  • Shop clean-up at Lydia, Hobota and the Vote Shop. Class bundles, elemental converters, stat food, the Gym Pass and the Blue Valkyrie Helm left the shelves. Scroll, potion and mystery box prices went up. Nothing you own was touched.
  • The training ground exam warps to Prontera instead of an empty starter village, save point included.
  • Two repeatable quests reopened, Sharp Leaf and Dryad turn-ins.
  • New event: the Reverse Race. A footrace with mirrored controls through a random city with seven random checkpoints. Everyone runs at the same locked speed, skills and items disabled. Winner takes 20 Poring Coins. Friday to Sunday. See the Event Calendar.
  • 780 costume sprites shipped to the client, the first 24 hats went on sale in the Vote Shop.

July 2026#

  • The Poring Coin economy was rebalanced. Event payouts went down (Disguise 5 to 3, Mushroom 4 to 2, Dice 25 to 15) and events ran half as often. Dead Branch Box 50 to 250 coins, Bloody Dead Branch 300 to 1,500, Field Manual 350 to 600. The drop rate was cut to 2.5 percent in the same pass and went back to 5 on 2 August. See Poring Coins.
  • Service NPCs consolidated in Prontera. Support Terminal, Settings Assistant, Hall of Fame, Who's Online and Guild Bank now stand only there. Soul Priestess, Warper and Kafra stay in every town. Positions in the NPC Directory.
  • The client stopped opening a stranger's YouTube channel on restart. The third-party game archive the client builds on had 17 web addresses tampered with by its original packager. All 17 point at secondwindro.com now. No game or account data was involved.
  • The Midgard Herald arrived in Prontera, a bulletin board with the last ten announcements and polls with up to seven options.
  • One client for live and test server, built on the 2022 engine, shipped as a plain ZIP. See Download & Install.
  • Poring Coins and the Dice Event launched. Every kill has a coin chance, Lydia in Prontera runs the coin shop, Hobota mirrors it at half price for Mission Points.
  • Drops went from 3x to 5x. Boss and MVP cards stay at 1x, MVP exclusive drops at 3x, treasure at 1x. Reset prices rose to 1,000,000 zeny per reset, the first one stays free. See Rates & Mechanics.
  • A wave of community classic NPCs opened: Safe Card Remover, Private Rooms, Welcome Package, name and gender changes, PVP Warper, WoE Sign, Universal Rental, Guild Zeny Bank and more. Three were closed again on 24 July after review.
  • All 54 tameable pets gained loyalty-scaled bonuses. See Pet System.
  • A skill balance pass went live and was reverted on 30 July. Every skill runs on stock rAthena Pre-Renewal values. See Skills.
  • Hall of Fame, Support Terminal and Hunting Board opened. Five leaderboards, a ticket system with stuck rescue, and eight rotating hunting missions. See Hall of Fame, Support Terminal, Hunting Board.
  • The Explore-to-Unlock Warper and World Explorer went live. Warper destinations unlock account-wide once you have walked there, achievement tiers sit on top. The idea this server is built around. See Warper System.
  • Custom Rebirth arrived, up to five prestige cycles after Transcendent with a permanent EXP bonus, 12 stat points and a title. See Custom Rebirth.

June 2026#

  • The Soul Priestess replaced the healers. One click, free full heal, in 36 towns.
  • The event scheduler took over the calendar, no GM needed. Cluckers on weekends, Disguise and Find the Mushroom rotating daily.
  • Comfort commands for everyone from level 1: @autoloot, @noks, @showexp, @rates and the rest. There is deliberately no @go. See Player Commands.

May 2026#

  • The first quality of life NPCs opened: Warper, Job Master, Stylist, Reset Girl.
  • Soul Smith Aurin and the Soul Circlet, the first custom quest line. +1 to all stats for those who finish it. See Custom Items.

Spring 2026#

  • SecondWind RO started on a clean rAthena core, classic Pre-Renewal, modern client. 5x base and job, 3x quest EXP, and one promise that has not moved since: MVP cards, boss cards and treasure stay at 1x. Everything custom is built alongside the engine, so upstream fixes keep flowing in.
