Warper System

Fast travel you unlock by walking there first, how it works, and what it deliberately refuses to offer.

Warper System

On most servers the Warper hands you the entire world on your first day, and the map stops mattering by the end of that day. Here it starts almost empty.

A destination shows up in the menu only after your account has reached it on foot. Until then the entry sits there marked [Locked], telling you it exists without letting you use it.

The result is that your Warper menu becomes a record of where you have been. That is the whole idea, and it is the one thing on this server that shapes everything else.

How unlocking works#

Walk into a map you have not visited before. That is the entire process. The unlock happens the moment you zone in, with a short notice and nothing to confirm.

The destination is then unlocked for your whole account, permanently. Every character you own gets it, including ones you have not created yet. Discovering the world is something you do once.

Warping to an unlocked destination costs nothing.

Every new map also counts toward the World Explorer achievements, which run all the way up to 300 discovered locations. Unlike the warp menu, those count every field and dungeon floor too.

What the Warper will take you to#

Category Rule
Towns Visit on foot first. Every city from Prontera to Amatsu.
Dungeons Visit on foot first, and it drops you at the entrance only.
Guild castles Always available, no unlock needed.
Shopping Mall Always available, no unlock needed.

Guild castles are the deliberate exception. Preparing for a War of Emperium should never depend on whether somebody in your guild walked to the right corner of the map, so those are open to everyone. The Shopping Mall gets the same treatment. It is where every vending shop on the server lives, and a lock on it would only be an obstacle.

What it will not take you to#

Fields are not in the menu at all. The land between towns is walked. That is where most of the game happens, and skipping it would leave the world as a set of disconnected rooms.

Individual dungeon floors are not offered. The Warper takes you to the entrance and the descent is your problem, the same rule as fields.

Renewal destinations were removed. Sixty-four of them came with the stock warper script and none of them exist on a Pre-Renewal server. The list you see is only places that exist here.

Locked entries#

Clicking a [Locked] destination does not silently fail and does not take your zeny. It tells you plainly that you need to go there on foot first.

Leaving locked entries visible is deliberate. A menu that hides what you have not found gives you no sense of how much world is left.

Getting the most out of it#

Level next to the unknown. Pick grinding spots that border maps you have not seen. You will fill in your network without making a single trip for the sake of it.

Let the Hunting Board route you. Its missions send you to monsters rather than to places, which tends to drag you through territory you would not have chosen.

Alts inherit everything. Because unlocks are account-wide, your second character starts with your entire travel network on day one. Rerolling costs you nothing in progress.

@home is always available. It returns you to your save point from anywhere, so saving at a Kafra in whichever town you treat as home gives you a permanent way back.

Where to find one#

Practically every town has a Warper near the centre, and a few sit at dungeon entrances so you have a route out.

In Prontera it stands at . The rest are in the NPC Directory.
